We are looking for an experienced Blockchain Protocol Architect for our client, with a proven track record in blockchain/Web3 ecosystems. You will lead hands-on protocol design for the blockchain stack, taking ideas from concept through specification and into implementation.
You will shape the technical direction across interoperability, privacy, and performance, and communicate the results clearly to both internal teams and the broader ecosystem.
Requirements:
Strong experience designing and shipping distributed systems and/or blockchain protocols (including but not limited to: L1, L2, cross-chain, consensus, privacy, and scaling).
Ability to write clean and understandable specifications and collaborate closely on them with an engineering team.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Basic understanding of cryptographic algorithms and primitives.
Ability to read and contribute to Rust and Solidity projects.
Responsibilities:
Protocol Design and Research
Design and evaluate protocol improvements in areas such as cross-chain interoperability, on-chain privacy, and throughput and latency enhancements.
Explore alternative solutions on the market and define trade-offs between them. Produce clear technical specifications, threat models, and design rationale.
Engineering Alignment with Labs Team
Partner with the implementation team to translate protocol designs into implementable milestones.
Review implementation plans, provide technical guidance, and validate correctness against the specification.
Ecosystem Communication and Thought Leadership
Present protocol work publicly at conferences, meetups, and technical workshops.
Write high-quality technical blog posts, design notes, and explainer content for developers and partners.
Product and Business Support
Work with the product team to define requirements, clarify constraints, and translate protocol capabilities into user-facing value.
Support business development through technical diligence, partner discussions, and integration planning.
Technical Due Diligence for Partnerships
Provide structured partner assessments, including architecture fit, security risks, integration effort, and timeline.
Collaborate with the DevRel team to align on the external technical narrative, developer guidance, and partner enablement materials.
